Real picture on Steam

Why all users on Steam doesn't use real picture? All people are anime avatar. I real can't understand...

what? Well one, most people aren't really wanting to show their face to the entire world online because of anonymity. A heavy like 1 to 5% probably use their real picture. Its not like this is a social media site anyway. Above all that, its quite a not very smart thing to do. As people can easily trace you and find a lot about you like that.

a lot of super twisted people use this site. and idk if you're aware but, stalking is a thing.

I've been stalked 4 times irl. and i love playing yandere simulator but not irl. a knife cuts no matter how well you're trained, and im not keen on playing dodge the knife irl lol

I know a guy who did that on Discord. Didn't end well. They found everything about him. They threatened that they were going to contact his parents, friends, even the boss. They had some secret stuff he didn't want shared.

You have to be really careful if you're that open about yourself. Any mistake may end up ruining your life.

Because it's not a dating site. It's a videogame community. Most common thing over a game community is to have kick asses avatars, anime girls and such.

Im on here to play games.
I dont want any attention or need approval from others because of pictures of myself and dont want to deal with any creepers, stalkers, or weirdos. I see no reason to post pictures of myself when steam is a place for people to play games and play games with others who also enjoy playing video games.

Its not tik tok, its not instagram, or whatever else people use these days to share their life stories.

Honestly I'm still reluctant to share them anywhere on the internet, I think it's weird to post your life online for people to see. I guess I'm more of a private person and the opposite is the norm now, but I don't get what they gain from doing it, stuff like posting what you're eating or where you're going is pretty alien to me.
