What is you favourite Star Trek Series?
Greetings fellow Trekkies, normal enjoyers, dislikers and other human beings watching TV shows!
For quite some time of friend of mine and I are wondering what is considered the best of all Star Trek shows among the fan base. So one day, we decided to look it up in various surveys and on forums, to come to the conclusion that we must have either watched Star Trek with the wrong pair of eyes equipped or that teletext surveys just ain't doing it. So I decided to ask you guys out there, what you consider to be the best of all Trek!

In order to allow an easier transfer from your comments into my excel table, I would politely ask you to make the name of your pick, the header of your comment.
Feel free to also give a reason for why you think so, and maybe even name your favourite episode right beneath!

Qapla' tlhIH puj be'Hom!

Ah, the series about space communists going all missionary and ruining the galaxy one planet at a time. The Next Generation has some good moments but Sir Patrick Stewart is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ knave who uses Reddit and should be thusly mocked for being a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ knave who uses Reddit.

Now William Shatner, there's a guy you want to meme with. I've only seen a bit of the original series, and it does have it's moments too. But at least the star of the show uses 4chan.

He's a big guy.
>inb4 the reference is not got

not communist, in communism all is property if everyone.

post scarcity technocracy.

many goods can be replicated.
every citycen of the federation gets a number of energy credits to use to repicate whatever they want.

however many other goods can not be replicated and are scare..
*everybody can be given a house but mansions in france or apartments in san fransisco are limited goods.
homecooked meals, antique relics.. are other non scarse goods..
and services like transporters is or fast ferry to other planets is for the army (aka federation) only.
civilians can get the scraps and take slow public transport for their commute..
these scarse goods are often handed out as favors.. used to generate pull to get favors back later.. so its not money thats traded in the federation its influence..

even in the clear command structure of the "army" more often than not its this favortism that get things done over clear protocol.

the one thing that shows the 1984 aka technocratic side of the federation when people wish to leave the federation....

and energy credits are rationed when energy is in short supply.. so its more lile a base income.... but one that cannot be used to buy the true scarse goods.
So basically communism, complete with rationing, breadlines and San Francisco.

learn what is communism what socialism and what technocracy.

both usa and the former ussr have more elements from technocracy than communism too.
fully automated luxury space communism? Always thought the federation was meant to be a meritocracy or something...Spock always seemed a bit communist to me ' the needs of the many outweigh the few etc ' Still I like Spock though =D

but in reality like... really? o'brian is the only one that could keep the station running?

Whenever he leaves the station for more than a day whole DS9 breaks apart,
which is probably also the reason why he leaves off to become a university lecturer at the starfleet academy once the war has ended
all the more reason to train someone else to maintain the place, eh?

idk wtf this is where they rely on some situation where some irish bloke it the only mofo who knows how to keep the station running... seems like a major plot hole to me.

the need of the many DO outweigh the need of the few.
thats just logical governing.
The needs of the many always outweigh the needs of the few or the one. Who cares about the one if the many get hurt or killed. ♥♥♥♥ that

Did you know that Albert Einstein, a known plagiarist and the byproduct of cousins, is the one whom that quote is originally attributed to? The one thing he actually came up with on his own and it's attributed more to some space alien on a TV show.

I love reality, it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hilarious.

god doesn't play dice.

dice were used by hebrews to determine "gods will"..
(gods 6 sided 8 ball of sorts)
that is why for centuries using dices for gambming or entertainment was total banned by the church.

so more God does determine the outcome OF every dice in excistance

Well, he was the first starfleet engineer to command engi staff on DS9, as it was a cardassian station running only cardassian tech before. The thing that noone else got this place to function the way it should is probably also the reason why he becomes a prof at the end, so he can teach students how to be more useful than LaForge. So a pothole? Not really, he's just the first guy to ever do this job and I mean the station is huge and staff is limited so far away from federation territory, hence why they can be glad to have an expert like the Chief on board
