Deep Space 9 close second.
Gargoyles is probably my second fav. <they were all in it>
edit add - like the original over deep sleep nine
Yeah, I always struggled to decide between the two of them, TNG is easily the winner of my heart, but I can't deny how well DS9 was written and how good they did on telling such a long and big story without the show suffering from it
^ this.
Shout out to Voyager and Enterprise. But TNG takes the cake.
But it's only preference. Both good. Picard is a badass too.
odd, for me it's the opposite because TNG is episodic it lacked in "spirit" or "continuation" feeling, but each individual episode (and 2 parter) was brilliantly done.
while DS9 was the show which lacked in, sort of... "Speed"? it had a lot of time to do what it needed to do, but still had lots of filler - as if they didn't care, but it's still a space war story in the Trek universe, 2 things I love, and am glad they mixed.
DS9 could have been like 4~ episodes shorter total and it'd be much better for it.
So I'll take that as TNG/ Original Series then. For the latter I can only say that I love every episode of it, but I just can't watch them nowadays without laughing my buttcheeks off everytime, Kirks jumping/rolling around, mass hysteria, the way the whole crew become a pinball in a flipper machine, once the ship gets attacked, and of course Kirk nailing everything that has two legs and no weener. OG really is a classic of it's own
Yeah, I can definetly see this, but due to the length of the war, they probably had to keep the pace a bit lower, and every episode, about Kira corpulating with ex-bajoran-rebell Y didn't help with that. But it is the much darker and sometimes probably even more "mature" tone that really defines DS9 to me. Episodes like "In the pale moonlight" or "Visionary" are a blast to watch each and every time!
Yep, gotta watch the OG with a lot of reserve.
