Why Wasn't Timesplitters Future Perfect Considered The Standard For Console FPSes?
The controls were great and smooth, it had normal aiming, it's filled with a lot of content, it had a campaign, co-op, AI bots in the multiplayer, a map maker that also let you make story missions, and more. It was the Unreal Tournament 2004 of console shooters. So why wasn't it called the standard for console first person shooters in the mainstream like Halo?

I've always blamed Crytek when they bought out the studio, benching a sequel to it in favor of the wildly successful game Crysis.

Deep Silver announced a couple years ago about a new venture...

dang I know they are on both Xbox one and series x probably also on PlayStation 4 and 5 I recommend playing them both cause I had some good fun when I first played it with my friends.

Timesplitters 2 kicked ass. It did stuff like Perfect Dark but improved upon it, and was a very nice, arcade shooter. I just think Unreal Tournament blew up the scene and plenty of UT vets descended into counter-strike as well, and TS fell off of popularity, probably just the influx of all the new fps shooters splintered the gaming population that were into fps shooters. Also cod, but ew

But I think it's time for another Timesplitters. Make it really mind-bendy. Give it a portal gun that will allow you to portal to different periods of time and different levels and you complete certain areas of a level then portal to the future and that affects things

And make it in Unreal Engine 5.1+ and you have a winner.

I do know Radical confirmed a new timesplitters game is in the works in 2021 so maybe 2026 or 2028 we might get it.

Why didn't people put Future Perfect as the standard for console first person shooters though?
