Friendly reminder that Windows is still spyware, even collecting data when debloated. Its newest version, Windows 11 being the greatest offender.

But just sticking to Windows 10 won't keep your data safe. Microsoft started embracing data-mining in the late Windows 7 life-cycle.

If you want to use an up-to-date operating system that puts you in control of your machine, Windows certainly isn't a good option.

No, no one skipped 98. lol. Windows 98 Second Edition was the ♥♥♥♥ right up until XP, tho some did jump ship and use Win2k before that. It sucked too much for gaming tho.

I mean this is like nothing new when you kinda get the BIOS is default on a computer so any type of OS that literally changes it would be basically spyware, but I hate to say this but our nations have been spying on us far longer then computers have been around and I'm not really shocked, sure it may sound horrifying but when you take for example the US and how few intelligence officers and cops it has compared to the overwhelming number of civilians it would need to keep track of at once time EACH DAY, EACH MONTH AND EVERY YEAR you kinda get the grand issue all nations would be plaged with if they didnt have a means to watch for illegal activities.

I know most of us dont do that stuff but is a saying as old as time itself

Right now, people are so scared they turn off their webcams, afraid I might see them. But what if I wanted to use the eye-tracking technology in a meaningful way? For example, for the game? And not for making a pointless photograph of your face. I cannot do that if people are scared of the technology and don't embrace it.

Being able to see where you look is very interesting from a developer's point of view. But that technology will never go anywhere as long as people have fear of each other and their computers.

i can run some games but not all games. also not my mouse software and some other drivers. i tried it once and it was hell for me

Sad to hear about your experience with Linux.

I was curious as I've used it with a few older laptops and the Steam Deck, and had very little issue with it, other then the differences of it to Windows.

Years ago there used to be a guy I knew that was a linux user and he had these huge copy pastes that he'd post whenever people talked poorly about linux or said something wrong about it.
