The Legend of Zelda - Tears of the Kingdom 70$ confirmed !
Good News

Remember my thread about how we want our games to be more expensive?

Finally developers are beginning to listen to us.
The new upcoming Nintendo game The Legend of Zelda - Tears of the Kingdom is not releasing cheaper as some rigid gamers wanted it to do. It comes with a price tag of 70$ !

Finally. Always good to start the day with some good news (happy to share this with you). :p_heart::p_heart:

I'm definitely picking this title up at release now.
Let's all hope that more AAA titles for both console and PC will come with a higher price tag in the future! :happystar2022:

Yeah, no, I'm not paying 70$. I'm already in the camp of "likes BOTW, but thinks other Zelda games are better," so why would I pay more than usual for what's basically just going to be more BOTW? And you know there's going to be DLC for it.

I either will not buy it or wait for a sale.

going off botw price 60 plus the ~20% inflation since 2017 is about that price, I don't see the issue.

Games were held at 60 for quite a long long long time.

Same way you don't need a pay raise at work? If that's how you want it, by all means.

Edit:
Actually what you said is quite wrong, looking at my old games, first thing I see are add-ons and expansions. Many Duke3D add-ons, clan and innersphere mechs packs for Mechwarrior 4, tons of separate add-ons for my DOS games etc.

Expansion pack add-ons were usually worthwhile and, in most cases, were more like mini sequels as opposed to paying $2.50 for horse armor.
6 mechs per pack, $20 used each. A few maps, $20-40 each for Duke3D. Retail prices.

I think you're suffering from rose tinted glasses here.
It's Zelda, ain't even worth 7 bucks
Ocarina of Time came out in 1998 priced at $49.99.

If it came out today, that would be around $89.75.

You know in the future bots will scan discussions for ideas of what people want to be sold to them and stuff like this is going to get used against us.

You have been warned.

This has been going on for years already.

Yeah you're right. Nothing's gotten worse at all. Everything is exactly the same.

Maybe I'm spoiled by PC gaming, but I can't help to look at the trailer and think how badly the graphics are being held back by console. I want to experience Zelda in 4k.

So a few games offer boosts to online play, makes all of the industry bad.

I personally wouldn't use such things and know they exist, but that's on rock star alone.

Good thing it's a Nintendo Switch game so it'll be easy to run on PCs.

:cockOMON:

BOTW2? I'm not going to waste my HD space for that crap.
I'd rather play again Twilight Princess for the 4th time instead.
♥♥♥♥ that ♥♥♥♥. No way I'm buying a new game for $70.

A few months after launch I'll be able to buy it used at Gamestop at a fair price.
Also the OP is demented.

Who knows. I do know that hosting servers is not free though. The fact you're complaining about live service games, is actually rather humorous since stuff they offer you don't even need to play the game.
