The Legend of Zelda - Tears of the Kingdom 70$ confirmed !
Good News

Remember my thread about how we want our games to be more expensive?

Finally developers are beginning to listen to us.
The new upcoming Nintendo game The Legend of Zelda - Tears of the Kingdom is not releasing cheaper as some rigid gamers wanted it to do. It comes with a price tag of 70$ !

Finally. Always good to start the day with some good news (happy to share this with you). :p_heart::p_heart:

I'm definitely picking this title up at release now.
Let's all hope that more AAA titles for both console and PC will come with a higher price tag in the future! :happystar2022:

Good thing it's a Nintendo Switch game so it'll be easy to run on PCs.

I feel like a whole bunch of people are going to start catching up on their steam backlog.

Well, good thing this price increase is happening to Zelda and not a series I actually care about.

Could be a lot worse, I guess.

Games stay the same price for nearly 40 years, digital distribution keeps them low for a while, but the whole world still experiences inflation.

People get surprise Pikachu faced that they go up $10.

Nintendo blows. I mean, I love a good Mario or Zelda anyday, but I really hate how they overprice their games and almost never have sales on them. I bet you on March 10th they won't even have a sale on Mario games. They'll just recommend that you buy them anyway.

30 years ago there were no subscriptions, DLCs or microtransactions. game companies don't need the extra $10.

Same way you don't need a pay raise at work? If that's how you want it, by all means.

Edit:
Actually what you said is quite wrong, looking at my old games, first thing I see are add-ons and expansions. Many Duke3D add-ons, clan and innersphere mechs packs for Mechwarrior 4, tons of separate add-ons for my DOS games etc.

You know in the future bots will scan discussions for ideas of what people want to be sold to them and stuff like this is going to get used against us.

You have been warned.
Nice! I'll take 5.

I still need to play Breath of the Wild, myself, so at the moment this one costs me zero dollars.

Expansion pack add-ons were usually worthwhile and, in most cases, were more like mini sequels as opposed to paying $2.50 for horse armor.
