Why are people saying not to buy Atomic Heart?
So one of the games I have been excited this month is Atomic Heart since it looks like Bioshock mixed with open world. But recently I have seen videos popped up saying not to by the game for some reason? Anyone know why this is the case and if its part of some kind of boycott or something?

Because people think video games = IRL problems... anti-Russian hysteria at it's finest. :steamfacepalm:

OP, if you think the game is interesting, buy it. Don't concern yourself with clickbait videos and petty internet people.
This @OP, however do take into account Denuvo shenaningans that might affect the performance.
That game and forspoken look like a tech demo to me

This game always had this "fake" feeling to it from my perspective, i dunno if anyone of you remembers, but the same thing happened with Bioshock Infinite - the trailers/videos and the game itself had nothing to do with eachother - and same with We Happy Few. I just don't trust any of the vids that came out so far

It's on Game Pass anyway so you don't even need to buy it.

Also do take into account this @OP, trailers and how the final gameplay is can be really different.

It's one of those "trapped in development Hell" games that they've been working on for years... so long it's outdated itself and had to be revamped over and over as the tec gets better...

So in a way it's more like Duke Nukem Forever... this original trailer was 4 years ago...

It's what happens when Developers over reach themselves yet are dedicated to actually make it
Yes, because every russian is now a loony warcriminal, even old ladies, babies and doctors. And of-course game developers. Heck, even russian cats and dogs are probably guilty and evil as well. In fact, let's ban and boycott all birds flying in from Russia into Europe, we can't have that.

Nevermind that the US, UK and Australia got a Free Pass for their illegal war on Iraq. Nobody boycotted their products, nobody banned them from international events. But hey, English-speakers are the good guys by default so what do I know, as long as we get CocaCola, McDonalds and Hollywood movies it's all fine.

The game looks great, and I will buy it. It's by far the most interesting FPS to come out since Prey 2017 in my opinion.
Free missile to Ukraine with every purchase. We send it fast!

It's a Russian game backed by ex-Gazprom. Developers are registered at Cyprus but they are Russians.

That doesn't really mean much though. These companies also have offices (and thus are registered) in Cyprus: IBM, KPMG, PwC, Deloitte, Reuters, Microsoft, Ikea, KFC, Starbucks, Nielsen, Oracle, CocaCola, Pizza Hut ... the United Nations has an office there.
Won't buy as long as Ukraine war is ongoing. Altho, the game does look pretty nice, like a more beautiful version of Fallout 4.

Its a skip for me because I don't like the aesthetics and symbology and ideas put forward. Don't care what nationality the developers and designers are. I like the Kings Bounty games.

Looking forward to it.

Politics aside, I couldn't really give a ♥♥♥♥. It's the same with Ukrainian game developers.

I knew it! My half-Russian Blue cat is a secret FSB agent seeking to re-establish the Soviet Union. All that cuddling and cuteness was just façade for their meowderous plan all along!!
