Someone always says that specifically when it comes to Skyrim."X game is better" That's because Skyrim was a bar setter. An RPG that all future RPGs would be compared to for years to come.
Will Elden Ring have that going for it? Skyrim is over a decade old, and your first comparison is a brand new game.
Nice try though
They aren't better just because they are newer either. What makes it the best ever?
And why are you arguing with me after saying that Skyrim isn't even the best in the franchise?
You might think it's the best ever, but as you have already said, most people don't agree with you.
Now I do like the game. Don't get me wrong. But that sucker has been a broken hot mess for over a decade.
Daggerfall is perhaps the most ambitious and even by TES games standards, a buggy mess.
KOTOR, BG2, Planescape Torment all have far better main stories.
The Witcher 3 is perhaps the best looking, sadly let down by terrible combat.
I'd say the best ...
Isometric Fantasy = BG2 or Divinity Original Sin 2
Isometric Sci-Fi = Fallout
First Person Fantasy = Morrowind
Sci-Fi = Mass Effect 2 or KOTOR
Honourable mentions = Disco Elysium and Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines
