Is it hard being a girl gamer?
With the constant thirsting in every game and forum post, or do you just take advantage of it and get free stuff in every game?

I don't buy you guys denying the free stuff part, just last night I've seen two different girls get offered skins and they accepted them and got them.
Not like that's wrong or anything but there's no way you haven't received free stuff online just for being a girl, I'd bet at least most of you have with 99% certainty. Games, skins, subscriptions, gifts, you name it, there's probably someone out there who wants to give you stuff on the internet. I know because my gf gets offered stuff all the time by literal strangers and I've seen it happen many times. It's actually insane.

Normalize giving free stuff in general.
Boys give free stuff to boys.
Let's fight the girls oppression!

That would be wholesome, but as it stands guys who give girls free stuff definitely have ulterior motives :lunar2020thinkingtiger: not sure if it would work the same if they do it out the kindness of their heart

there is free stuff yes. from friends most of them from other girls. i been given items in New world worth 20k but i gifted more than 150k worth of items to other people.
then i told them no gift will be taken only Paintings for houses, worth nothing but i like to have them as memories.
there is some girls who act cheap and they get a lot free stuff, also there is males who are begging for stuff and they get the same amount.
20k and 150k ingame gold not real money.

something hard...

especially hard to take female gamers seriously when 999% of the ones on twitch are more focused on twitching their tits than playing any game..

maybe some people could, but as a kid I was really shy and didn't want to confront fully grown men. At 13, most kids lack confidence and self esteem. It's pretty scary to approach a large group of adults who are twice your size and call them out. I can do that now as an adult, but back then? I just wanted to be left alone.

I still remember the first ever comment I got at that LAN-- I was wearing a really, really big oversized hoodie because I was very self conscious about my body. Was playing on a dota team with a few other girls my age (12-14). I was walking to the bathroom and a guy called out to me and said "hey, you've got p***star b****" and his friends laughed. I'm not ashamed to say that at that age, I was REALLY self conscious and didn't want anyone to comment on my body (which I hated). I scurried away and ended up crying in the bathroom (they followed a bit). It might sound small now, but it really sucked at the time :(
Interesting... when I think "LAN" I am thinking my or someones living room not a public place.. but yeah I get it.. like a LAN cafe thing. Well in a situation like that you could ask the management but I can see that makings things worse as well.

That said kids are brutal in any situation. Even against other boys.

Oh yeah, this was a massive tournament with thousands of players. Iirc there were 8 different esports titles being played, so it was full of people in a convention centre. The people making gross comments to me were always adults in their late 20s/early 30s. Surprisingly, there aren't that many young competitors at these events.

It's a parenting thing. At 13 my parents wouldn't let me get any so I had no online gaming devices. It's why I had a different experience at 13 than you.
the parents should be with the kid at that LAN event, or at least one of them the mother or the father. gaming events are full of creeps.

100000% agree. If I had an adult with me, things would've been very different. If I had kids I would never let them go solo

those are not gamers. they are semi prostitutes. everyone know females in online gaming are nothing like that. like your sister playing video games. normal female like anyone else.

Depends on the person and the community they grew up in.

There are a bunch of women at a high rank in Apex/Hunt/COD cuz they grew up in a house full of brothers. You would never know if you seem like a tool or a bad teammate. They won't talk until they know it is chill 90% of the time. And those games are chill towards women.

Meanwhile you play Siege and see a woman making callouts in ranked..... invariably you will hear, "Yo who let this chick outta the kitcken?"

ya, chill female gamers are the best tho XD
The ones that prefer to stay under radar? i don’t think so. I mean by having neutral usernames, non-feminine/flashy profile and never use microphone in-game (sticks to chat box if available).

The ones that have “look at me, i’m a girl” all over it? Yep.
