Steam Moderation Issue
It has come to my attention that there are some users who are friends with forum moderation. Some proof of this.
-> I post a message with my opinion
-> OP gets pissed and reports me
-> Shadow Mod deletes it without any warning
-> Receive Community Ban for a week

I have several screenshots from various people confirming that mega thread OPs have moderation working overtime and in their back pocket.

For example, lets take Endgunner's counting thread, I tried a few times to derail it and a few moments later I get community banned because he has mods working for him.

He can deny it all he wants, but it has been proven that the moderation team is working from the shadows hunting down anyone they see as a threat to the mega threads.

Now if moderation locks this thread, my point will be proven for you all to see that moderation likes to cover up those who speak out against them.

It's not as unlikely as some users like to think.

Remember how that gladiator game dev was banned from the steam store for putting anti-mask comments in his patch notes?

Here's a steam employee openly stating they did not interfere in Factorio's devs hosting a pro-ukraine event.

Here's a pro-blm article freely hosted by Valve (before they deleted the entire Steam community news section the very day Biden was inaugurated).

Here's one user claiming Valve had been using AI image detection to prevent upload of "I support the current thing" memes (in a thread which was promptly deleted by the mods)

https://archive.ph/IpEGg

Here's one of the threads detailing Sony and Steam related censorship in the God of War forums any time anyone criticized Madam Sterling over their hypocrisy regarding... Wait for it... Console exclusivity (Yes. That is how it started. (As opposed to bans beginning over anything to do with any politically charged rhetoric)).

https://archive.ph/1K5sp

Here's a member of Steam Support effectively admitting that they allow certain content that breaks the rules, but that doesn't mean "objectionable posts" (I.e posts that don't violate any rules but are subjectively deemed "objectionable") are free to remain unmolested.

Yeah you talk real loud from behind that sockpuppet account. What country does your real IP land in I wonder?
It's irrelevant. No matter the amount of number that IP has and how high it "scores", he will still be the same old Naru posting about the same things because that is what Naru does.

Probably not Amuro's, if my ban record is anything to go by.

Though I might not agree with OP what so ever, I was under the impression that moderation talk was fair game so long as it wasn't "fighting" it. The opening remarks seemed more focused on stating a wild theory more than fighting.

Just my thoughts on the matter.

The rule is about arguing about bans, warnings or Moderator actions. Directly talking about these things are actually against the rules.

But because we had so few of these topics and if people behaved decently well we would actually discuss it. Goes to show that the Moderation team, even the new one are not power hungry. Also it was fun to prove these people wrong and show people that these people are more likely to lie about their bans than not.

The official way to deal with your ban is too either contact the Moderator through the ban message or contact Steam support. Not to make topics about it.

If you're having an argument about a random subject with a Moderator that is completely fine. You can disagree as much as you want with that Moderator too.

Well, I am talking directly about the rule you quoted and how another global stated otherwise.

Im not really sure your stance on it is definitive. It was always said the rules are a 'guideline' and are actually a lot more of grey instead of black and white.

Which is why I stated this doesnt really seem to be trying to argue about it but more focused on concerns about moderation, which is allowed if Killa was believed to be right in his stance.

And if we are being honest, moderation isn't always the best on steam with numerous globals being force retired due to abuse of power so this thread isn't THAT far fetched despite me personally not believing it.

I dont want to point out how threads werent even given a chance when attempting to discuss moderation either.

Well at least that guy actually BUYS stuff on STEAM, the GAMING PLATFORM!

How about:
No forums unless:
$50 USD spent.
1 game at least.
10 hours played on that game.

Sound good?

Community ban only triggers from several quick bans in a small period of time.
Like 3 or 4 days.
"It is important to remain skeptical and question everything"

And here I was wondering why people are going insane on the other side of the border.

Yeah, so do other Chinese nationals, strangely enough.

New report asks why Wallpaper Engine is such a hit in China, and turns out it's porn
By Joshua Wolens published July 22, 2022

Around 7.5% of the content on the desktop wallpaper app is adult in nature, yet remains accessible to Chinese users.

A new report from the MIT Technology Review(opens in new tab) has shed some light on the baffling popularity of Wallpaper Engine, an app that allows you to create, browse, and share Windows desktop wallpapers. It turns out that it's a clever way for Chinese Steam-users to circumvent their country's ban on online pornography.

Yeah but is the hole in their face as big as yours?

I don't follow. How are holes in faces related to Valve knowingly violating Chinese censorship laws while claiming they will uphold Chinese censorship laws, all the while allowing foreign nationals to spread harmful disinformation that Biden's disinformation governance board was allegedly founded explicitly to combat?
На русскоязычном сегменте форума та же проблема.
Russian speaking segment of the forum has quite the same problem
I Thought this thread was about steam moderation.
Not politics.
My bad.

So... What you're actually saying is it's the Steam Moderators' own personal political altar where they can preach their deluded political garbage.
No, but I can certainly see how your twisted brain would spin it that way. Spin spin spin. That's all you do.

The classified docs is a great example since the 2 situations are nothing alike, and yet here you are pushing this false narrative on a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ gaming forum. Biden WILLINGLY gave up those docs, and the failure was on whoever was supposed to pick them up. They were even in a secure area. ♥♥♥♥ happens all the time. Unlike with Trump, which is the complete opposite. He refused to return the docs AND kept them in a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ poolhouse. Idiot.

You think this is right? I suspect your next attempt will be to discredit my supposed political affiliation by taking a wild guess, right? Go for it. :)

The documents Trump had were declassified by the sitting president.

The documents Biden had were not declassified by the sitting president.

In simple terms: Biden broke the law. Trump did not.

Well more to the point...

Neither one should of done it... both should be held accountable, one was and hopefully one will be. But as the world is twisted and warped... "rules for thee but not for me" will probably prevail.
So last night after around 3-4 hours of having this up, the mods got pissed and closed the topic. They tried to cover it up by moving it to off topic to make them seem innocent.

On the plus side... they could of just locked / hidden it. At least they moved it....
