If you ask me which controller was the most important in the history of gaming when it comes to creating a standard. It would be the SNES controller without the shadow of a doubt.
I know, it has its shortcomings and flaws, but its design is just so distinct and unique in my opinion.
Otherwise, the Xbox 360 controller is pretty solid, I still use it for games that are best played with a controller, even years after the console itself has stopped working (RRoD).
Absolutely, no matter how carefully you handle it, the stick becomes a major problem after a certain time.
Of all the controllers from back then (late 90's), only one still works almost perfectly, I had to replace all the others.
But apart from that, playing games with the controller is great, it just feels so right.
On the other hand the 360 sticks are great but bad once worn down.
I'd choose the Dualshock 4, as long as you maintain it with cleaning using electronic contact cleaner once a year it seems to work well. tho the dpad is a little big, i do like how it has flat buttons tho.
The bumpers on the ds4 will get stuck over time but you can pop em out with a butter knife and clean it and itll work for another 6+ months no probs.
Currently I use a Xbox seris X controller for PC, ill wait bout 2 years before i give a review but ive had it for bout a year and its good, tho ive needed to tooth brush the buttons and bumpers to stop double inputs a few times.
If it's anything like that C64 Joypro I had with the big red knob, I feel you.
Nah it was somekind of flight simulation kit. Case was literal steel. Drop that on a toe and you will learn languages you never knew you could speak.
And OT, why did they name a sports game after a foul!?
