People are re-branding their racism, homophobia, and general fear mongering as 'anti-woke.' 'Woke' is the new fear word, the new scary 'other' that these people invoke to justify their awful prejudices.

Gamers aren't the smartest of groups, and are impressionable as they are mostly young. Couple these 2 factors with the habit of being perennially online means a lot of "anti-woke" propaganda is pushed towards the group.

Yes and no.
Most people I think would reject the WOKE BS, but at the same time, many support the infrastructure that allows WOKE BS to thrive, but they lie to themselves to convince themselves otherwise.

A good example of this is people like Bill Maher. Claims to hate the woke BS but supports the infrastructure that keeps woke BS thriving and hates the counter-culture figures like Trump who trample all over woke-culture.

Sure, I think there are people who push social issues way too far in terms of what is tolerable to ordinary people but anti-woke is being used as a tool in order to make sure that we never even have to address social issues, even ones that obviously make sense to address; simply because they are raised by certain people, and because the group is stigmatized. And "anti-woke" is a tool to push extreme conservatism.

Woke BS has tried multiple times to come for gaming. How many people here like playing games were NPC"s die? How soon before wokeism comes for that where you can't play a game where you do any kind of violence?

It'll start small. It'll be all blood has to be off-color from red. All depicts of a gun needs to have a mature rating of 18. And they'll slowly chisel away with what you're allowed to see in video games until we're all playing extreme version of solitaire because all those other games were determined to be bad for your health.

There's somewhat of an anti-woke cult that does sincerely believe that no social issues ought to be addressed due to wokeness existing. Or have at least become far more resistant for addressing them, as a result.

And certainly some people would call that a fantasy, that we could somehow form a functional and well-being society without taking social issues into account.
