Television and movies have been taken over by woke. What high-budget show/movie, in 2022, did not feature a strong female character? Name one.

ToS Star Trek was mildly woke, at best. Far better defined as "progressive".

Woke has gone far beyond that.

I think we're anti-Agenda.

A lot of games lately have been pushing certain agendas in gamers faces and it's negatively impacted some game series.
Take Battlefield for example. Dice is on some weird lets-all-hold-hands-and-be-good craze and took away All chat and some other functions from 2042. Meanwhile, their competition adds in local vox chat lol.
Andromeda is another example of what happens when you push a "woke" agenda into a franchise. The controversy both in the game and making the game will always be my go-to example.

Let's use a Gay character for example: Everything is perfectly fine when the gay character just asks like a normal part of the plotline, They may have a love interest which is cool, But if their plot and purpose it's an obvious propoganda piece, Everything is ok.

What's IS an obvious Agenda-piece is when that same gay character is all like "LOOK AT ME I'M GAY I'M GAY I'M BRAVE BECAUSE I'M GAY LOOK AT ME HAVING A MAJOR PLOT INVOLVEMENT THAT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE FOR ME TO BE IN BUT WHO CARES I'M GAY DID I MENTION I'M GAY YET?"


So basically, we're anti-obnoxious agenda pushers.

Star trek didn't obnoxiously push what rodenberry was trying to convey tho. Uhura didn't run around the bridge having weird out of place camera moments while screaming "LOOK AT ME I'M A WOMAN AND BLACK IM IMPORTANT!"
I can't think of a single character on star trek who relied on their gender or ethnicity to carry the importance of their character or influence their plot directions.

I loke how the word agenda is used. Basically anything from the left or progressive is an agenda

pushed in your throat but anything conservative or "traditional" is not an agenda ?

Personnaly i like games with diversity of social content , games that reflect the morality

conflicts of our era, of course they need to be content that not became obvious propaganda.

But this is avalaible for all the sides of the political spectrum, even if personnaly i consider

myself as woke , open and aware of the problems of our society and the errors of the past .

Sadly woke became an insult a meme , as it was for Sjw or liberal.

From what i see in the forums the treats, the insults , the agendas are at 80% from the same

side and it is not the woke one

In most game forums the first to complain are masculinists and ultra conservatives, if someone

of color, or a woman or a protagonist is gay, for them just include one of them and the game is

woke.

No most gamers are not against social progress but sadly there is a big minority of hate

If "woke" was just about expressing your opinions, that would be fine. People would simply vote with their wallets and that would be it.

The problem that many people are having, is that these "woke" people are not satisfied with just voicing an opinion, they want to enforce their views on other people by censoring them, cancelling them, boycotting their products or services, harassing people on social media or in person, calling anyone who disagrees with them an -ist. They behave in a very fascist way.

'That' is what a lot of people have a problem with. it's not about "the message" per se, as most people are normal and see any kind of discrimination as a bad thing, that's common sense.

The other problem people are having, is that in enforcing their views they also hijack franchises that are much-loved by their imagined "enemies", destroying the franchise in the process since they have zero respect for it and the fanbase that made it popular in the first place.

What also annoyes peopls, is the constant remake of older successful movies but with race/gender swapps, blatantly made for no other reason than "messaging".

Regarding Star Trek and other progressive older TV-shows. They understood to make the storyline good or interesting, so it was entertaining to watch. They used actual book authors back then. Today the TV-and movie producers hire hipster meme.writers, bloggers, and similar. People who haven't written a single [successful] book or novel in their life, are in charge of entire franchises.

The writing is so bad in these games, movies and TV-shows, that it doesn't feel like entertainment or art anymore, just a political add.

You can make successful entertainment that still carries a messgae, just look at: Philadelphia, Brokeback Mountain, The Color Purple, A Time to Kill, Selma, Milk, etc. When it comes to games you have games like: Gone Home, Life Is Strange, Night in the Woods, Telltale's The Walking Dead, etc.

As with any other type of movie, book, game or TV-show ... you still need to have good writing to be successful.Simply having a socio-political message is not enough, that's neither art nor entertainment.
