I loved that they decided to wipe out humanity after evolution of life on Earth didn't go the way intented.
pretty simple.
"NNNNGGG, where's the things i already know??? MUH XENOMORPHS!!"
Also you're looking for a deeper meaning which isn't there.
"neckbeards on the internet" aren't to blame for Alien Covenant, that's all Hollywood. Tons of people were excited to see where Prometheus would go, and the subtle hints to the origin of Xenomorph were enough to keep hardcore fans sated. But just like how Ridley Scott wasn't allowed to make Prometheus the movie he wanted it to be because of suits, he probably also had to shoehorn the sequel into being a Xenomorph movie because of suits. I really liked Prometheus, it had its flaws but I thought it was a solid film. Alien Covenant is a piece of ♥♥♥♥ though and as much as I adore the Alien series, it would've been significantly better without Xenomorphs and the origin Ridley went with was insultingly bad.
Mmmm, pie... 🤤
