I mean, realistically it's nothing to be overly proud of. If I'm correct on this matter, and I have no reason to think I'm not, then there are actually a lot of regrettable things about being white.

If I'm correct:

1) The patriarchy is real. And there are good reasons for it existing, but yeah, straight white men rule the world.

2) The three-tiered society is white man's invention. Upper, middle and lower classes. And historically it used to be a racial caste system like in India.

I could go on for quite some time, but these are the two major points.

...was the last nail in the coffin of "does Ridley Scott even understand his own work?" It's preposterous and beyond unnecessary for both settings.

At best he started to try to say about 17 different disjointed ideas, and then realized he'd shot enough footage, and thought that would somehow make a competent film. His early works were pretty good but increasingly I believe that was mostly due to the work of the staff around him and less his own.

I just know that if my day to day life was Alien I'd want to legalize Replicants.

Sometimes in order to help people, you have to hurt them. Sometimes, you have to be cruel to be kind. The tough love sort of treatment that is not at all popular, but in the end is what may be the key to salvation for some types.

A lot of problems today could be solved by people learning how to shut off their empathy. Which is easier when you had to learn how to have empathy to begin with.

In this sense, autism truly is a superpower.

The movie? The movie is about the Engineers who basically made Humanity and then fell asleep on the moon, humanity finds them and basically ends up getting both the remaining Engineer and every killed off by the crap they left in the labatories onboard, the ship many years later is taken by that one AI guy, who basically hates Humanity but learns humanity was made by the Engineers, goes to their world in Covenant, wipes them out then takes their new toys, the Aliens back to earth which in the comics ends with humanity being wiped out in the end
