This actually describes him perfectly.
But those custom Lambos don't pay for themselves
He has about the same impact as an ATM machine.
If people stopped watching his videos tomorrow, he would not continue to be a "philanthropist" with his own money. A philanthropist is someone who has literally so much money, they can't spend it, so they give some of it to charity. Gates, Buffett, Musk.
Mr Beast takes a cut, then gives the rest away to something he knows will generate more views.
He doesn't care about altruism, it's just his gimmick. I mean the bar for entertainment is so low on youtube, his peers are people like Logan Paul & Saffron Barker. It's no wonder that people think he is a great person when he gives away a box of iPads.
He's been on my sh*t-list ever since.
exactly and I will chip in with more detail.
he earns more from the videos than he ever claims to give away and since his uploads take up most of the front page on several channels he can pretty much make a video about anything claim to give away £10k but earn like £100k from it.
tell me how that is the actions of a philanthropist, because its not.
he pretty much uses the charity gimmick to become a millionaire, he does not care about anyone but himself. Nice guy my butt.
That doesn't make any logical sense?
Are you attempting to suggest that US residents don't have any children?
If you clear cookies and cache then you see Mr beast and sssniperwolf....thats...the front page of YouTube.
Lol
1) Ever green content - stuff which doesn't expire or fade away with time. You can still watch the video years from now.
2) Trapping the viewer. Content is done in such a way as to keep interest in knowing what will happen next. There's certain fast-paced cuts, zooms, and effects. The video is layered out in a way to give interest within the first 5 seconds and keep that interest going till the end. They won't just be clickbaited by a thumbnail and then leave.
3) Yet there's still the clickbait. Using dramatic expressions such as being puzzled, shocked, and happy. Emotionally drawing you into it at the start.
There's actually a lot to it and a personality to back it, which some have and others won't. Title, thumbnail, upload times, content, etc. It's almost an art form and skill set. Plus the YouTube algorithm changes with time, so you need to be able to keep up with it. A full time career and a ton of effort. Don't underestimate it.
You need your own unique niche and target audience. The issue with that, similar to Pewdiepie, is you grow up but the audience stays the same. Either you evolve or drop off accordingly. It's extremely hard to please everyone, specially when they are expecting the same to never change.
A younger audience has massive amounts of viewing time but a shorter attention span, plus you need to remain family friendly. It's an insane balancing act.
They generate clicks. It makes sense them being front and center of YouTube's platform.
I would like someone to explain how Jimmy Fallon, Stephen Colbert, and Jimmy Kimmel, a bunch of middle-aged dudes in a dying medium who can't even win their own time slot are always on the front page when I watch the YouTube app on my TV.
