The Expression "The best thing since sliced bread."
I believe that this expression is stupid because there have been so many things invented since pre-sliced bread was first widely sold in 1928 that are easily better.

In your opinion, what are some things that have been invented since then that are better than sliced bread?

best thing since sliced bread is whole bread!
Whole wheat bread pre-dates pre-sliced bread.
That's the point, pre-sliced bread isn't an improvement.

Have you ever tried to make a sandwich without it?

Yeah, but then you risk cutting it unevenly or, worse yet, cutting your hands. Man, there's so much danger involved there, thank goodness there's pre-sliced bread.

If it's sliced, it's sliced bread, regardless of who or what does the slicing! :steamhappy:

Sorry I think Pizza predates sliced bread and nothing so far has "topped" that!

Oh man, I forgot about all those fatal accidents that happened during bread cutting, before pre-sliced bread was invented! :steammocking:

Look, I can overlook your social and political misgivings, but I have no tolerance when it comes to discussing bread! This is serious man, so get with it!

You all just need a freshly bake loaf, it's so warm, soft, and huggable.

but a sliced piece of bread is just lifeless, you expose more surface area to the air which makes it go stale quicker. :lunar2019deadpanpig:

The hands hold the bread together which holds the sandwich together.
The bones, circulatory system, muscle, tendons, ligaments, etc hold the hand together.
The sandwich holds all that together.

The sandwich holds itself together.
