Why does steam updater crash my games ?
It's really annoying when I'm in a souls game like Elden Ring and you crash my game just as I'm about to defeat a boss. " Steam client downloaded an update " This notification crashes my games and it shouldn't .

The updater will reload the Steam client. Maybe that is why?

Sounds like you've got Steam set to update immediately. Turn that off.

Thanks for the replies and luckily Elden Ring has an autosave feature that stopped me from completely starting all the way back from where i was . The creatures are still laying on he ground ...which is weird .

where is that setting located ?

in my steam they ask me if i want to restart it or not
