Chrome Hounds inspired games
Does anyone know if there are any Chrome Hounds inspired games, remakes or imitators?

What kind of game is that? By the genre I probably could

It was a giant robot game. You could build your own "hound" and then it would be team battle for either the destruction of the other team (almost always) or capturing control points. I know there are a lot of games in that genre, but this one was special and people who knew the game know what I'm talking about. It was on Xbox360 and PS3?

When Sega shut off the servers the game died.

I took a moment to answer my own question by asking Mr. Goog-Lee. There is a game here on Steam called MAV. It is $20 and early access.

Anyone know of others? I'm greedy.

The closest one I can think of is Hawken, which some argue to be better than Mechwarrior.

I don't know if its an imitator or not, but have you heard of the Armored-Core games, OP?

It plays a lot like Chrome Hounds imo, but take that with a grain of salt.

I used to play the AC games. They were fun, fast arcade-y games. Chrome Hounds was slow and team oriented. I've been reading the MAV page. It is still in slow development but looks like it will be great once the persistent world gets added. Its a rough looking game but I love Mount and Blade as well.

Chomehounds vs MWO: Chomehounds and now MAV allow tons of customization and bizzarre builds. In CH my favorite ride was one that was basically a pair of chicken legs with two battleship turrets stacked on top of eachother. I had a buddy who would scout and call shots and I'd one hit the enemy. It was a lot of fun.

I'd say give MechWarrior Online a try. It's not as objective based and doesn't have the cool radar system but it is a slower paced mech game, has varying mech sizes, and if you are with a good team, can be very tactical and rewarding. Plus it's free.

I got the founders package for MWO and haven't played in a while. I like it but CH was something different that I liked more. I don't have a good explaination. Its just a feeling. I am really digging MAV now. The dev updates often and really engages with the community. I'll have to pick up the game when I have the time to devote to it.

Haha yeah. I loved Chromehounds when I was younger. MWO is the only slower paced mech game that I know of that is completed and newer.

Cool thanks. I do like that MWO is slower. I have a hard time hitting anything in it though. Probably because I've got the olds. MAV is a straight up copy of CH, it just isn't close to finished. :(

The olds is no fun. Thank you for the heads up on MAV and hopefully when it's out, you won't be the one blowing the s*** out of me. XD

I sincerly doubt I'll be doing that I was only adequate in CH and it was still fun. I love that there are so many developers out there rebuilding games I grew up on. Panzer General, CH, Baulder's Gate. Now i just need TSR's Pool of Radiance and the rest of the GoldBox games. :)

Haha alright man. Thank god for that. Personally I want to see X-Wing vs Tie Fighter remade.

I would not be against this. Or Rogue Squadron. Or Wing Commander if I have to be honest.

If you can find the full set, the original Steel Battalion was amazing. But you REALLY need the controller.
