Weeaboo?
So I've always been fond of anime, sometimes watch it. I've met quite a lot of weeaboos. Even dated one. Recently, I started up a group for Facebook called Weeaboo Supporters. Cause I feel as if Weeaboos are bullied and picked on way too much. Of course some of them are annoying, but everyone is annoying to someone. Everyone has an obsession. Obsessions are not bad. Even calling yourself Japanese and obsessing over the culture isn't. I absolutely despise people who use Weeaboo as an insult or bully Weeaboos. Not all Weeaboos are fat pieces of sh*t who sit around all day eating pocky with a waifu pillow trying to learn Japanese. There's too many stereotypes for Weeaboos. I've seen people go to the extent of saying "F*cking kill yourself, you f*ggot piece of weeaboo trash. You're a little sh*t." Which is extremely immature, rude and wrong to say. Weeaboos are people too. They're different. They're weird. That's not bad. What's your stance on Weeaboos? Just a little thought I wanted to get out here. Good day :P

Uh. Why are you addressing that here? We have a few jerks in house, but a fair number of us like anime, or at least are not bothered by it.

The anime fans here know who to listen to, and who to ignore.

This seems just like you are whacking a hornets nest with a stick to see what gets stirred up

Eh. I'm trying to see other peoples opinions. I'll try my best not to get in an anger argument, heh. Good thing there's an off topic discussion board.

Weird.

I think you're confusing Weeaboo and Otaku. Weebs are fat ass men in Kimono's learning Japanese on Rosetta Stone while wielding a katana and eating pocky with their dakimakura.

This is true.

Anyway...

Something to watch while you wait for posts. It is from Otaku no Video. Super old anime crossed with some live action interviews.

This interview is the only part of the live stuff I remember.

I'm generally fine with people and their interest or love for certain cultures...

But it is weird when they're obsessed to the point that they believe they're Japanese because they changed their name... Like from John to Keito or something.

Huh.
My brother is one, but he's Asian.
Does that make him a weeb?

Weeaboos are fine so long as they stop bothering people who AREN'T weeaboos with thier "SO KAWAI ANIME WAIFU SUGOI SENPAI" ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. But until then, the rest of the world is gonna keep treatin em like furries. BTW, what do you think Japan thinks about weeaboos in America?

In a sense.. Yes..

Weeaboos are people who are non Japanese and is obsessed with the culture to the point of considering themselves to be Japanese. Asians who are not from Japan aren't exempted from this term.

He is, however not a wapanese.

Lel. True. I've actually thought about changing my name to something anime related. Maybe even my kids.

People bully weeaboos because, well, they are into a lot of weird stuff sterotypically. A real weeaboo is just someone who values Japanese culture over their own, usually way more than their own, not someone who enjoys anime a lot. Most actual weeaboos say that they are Japanese, whether they are actually or not. The sterotypes for weeaboos are as you listed; Fat and trying to learn Japanese with a body pillow of an anime character on it next to them. People always believe the sterotpyes so that is why people dislike them, whether or not they just like Japanese culture better than their own and literally fit none of the sterotypes.
I'm a mall ninja and supreme tactical weeaboo. I collect tactical katanas, tactical throwing stars, tactical anime, and tactical fedoras.
