Lord of the Rings Trilogy VS Star Wars Trilogy
It would be Lord of the Rings for me. Yes, I am a Tolkien nerd. I am talking about the 3 LOTR movies, (Fellowship of the Ring, Two Towers, Return of the King). For Star Wars, I am talking about episodes 1-6.

The first 3 LoTR movies were frigging brilliant. I have all the extended editions. The extra material really ads a lot of great stuff. The books... I read them, but I just never cared for Tolkien's writing style.

Gotta go with them.
That all depends. If you mean the movies alone, and if so you mean the 3 LotR vs the 3 Star Wars originals I'll pick Star Wars since I can watch those a million times and not get sick of them.

But

If you mean LotR + the three Hobbit trash vs the Star Wars originals + the prequel (mostly) trash + part 7 that's a toughie.

I'd say maybe the coolest element of any of them might be the Ring Wraiths. Those are some badass mofos.

Yeah, I have the extended editions for all. I believe each one has like 9 hours of behind the scenes, and watched most of that too. I've read all the books, including the Hobbit. I didn't really care for his writing either, but I respected it pretty well and I am very glad I finished them.
Game of Thrones!

Yeah. I have what? 3 Movies over 12 disks, counting all the awesome behind the scenes stuff. It was 30 minutes extra in 1, 40, in 2, and 50 in three if I remember right.

I wish this scene had gone on more, as I freaking LOVED the character design.

I love the word play. "No MAN can kill the Witch King!" "I am no man!"
That wasn't your normal John Q. Ring Wraith though was it? The one on the Wyvern?
The Fellowship of the Ring was a cool film but most memorably after 3 hours I was expecting a conclusion, and my ass was numb. Aside from that the setting was really cool (I grew up in a shire in a small market town), I liked the characterisation, and the timing with the 9/11 terrorist attacks got me thinking. I mean the only tall buildings in the uk are full of the poorest people in the country, theyre often the most desperate, and its an issue I was dealing with at the time.

He was the most powerful of the 13 Kings of Men who fell under Sauron's power. It was 13, wasn't it?

Kind of apples and oranges.
LotR is a great adaptation of the work of Tolkien (not like we have much to choose :steammocking:) which is quite a feat in itself.

However Star Wars is a bigger player in my book (I don't know about those 'episodes' 1 to 3 you mention about... :steammocking:) mainly because its relevance on the movie industry.

Star Wars was kind of the Half Life of the science fiction back in the day.

"And nine, nine rings were gifted to the race of Men, who above all else desire power."
Well, Lord of the Rings is sci-fi and Star Wars is fantasy, why even compare the two?

I like in the Return of the King, where the Witch King says to Gandalf, "I will break you! then the horn of Rhohan calls!!". That is just awesome. Also really awesome in the book too. The death of Boromir was really sad.

No. 9 Mortal Men, doomed to die. He was the most powerful out of the 9 though.

Episodes 1-3 are the newer ones, which I liked but the first one, was just boring in my opinion.

Actually, since it includes alien races, Star Wars would be sci-fi fantasy. And really, if you removed the tech, it would be a pure Fantasy film about a long line of magical knights saving a princess, and destroying the castle of the Dark Knight and the evil God emperor...

WHy does this plot sound familiar. Wait a second. That is the plot of Krull.
