I still dont understand why people want WW2 shooters

some years ago the market was bloated with WW2 shooters,and we still have a load of good ones still,like H&G;COD:WAW(+All cods before 4),MoH(AA,PA,Airborne),BF1942(43 and its several expansions),Red Orchestra(and Rising storm),and the most important out all of these,the DoD franchise,like really,and there are upcoming ones like Battalion 1944,Days of War,and hell,even if it is not FPS,we still have WW2 games like:War Thunder,World of Tanks,World of warcrafts,world of warships and a load more!

and btw,people called for innovation back at the past,people were tired of Boots on the Ground,just that you didn't experience it doesn't mean you have the rights to take their fun,game devs listen to gamers,and we are always wanting more,lets give them a break,because WW2 shooters arent fun anymore,we need to innovate,or else ♥♥♥♥ wont go anywhere.

It was a war where the good and evil roles were fairly well defined. Japan and Germany did some pretty heinous stuff to the people they conquered. Also, it was about the last time the US won anything significant.

Not really.
The propeganda machine had a massive influence on everybody at the time and subsequently.

Churchill was just as much a fascist (by Mussolini's definition) as any of the Axis leaders.

I'm not suggesting Hitler for example, was in any way justified or right or morally agreeable/superior, but that the determination of "good" and "evil" is really not absolute nor objectively applied.

What I meant was when FPS games became big, there weren't any WW1 vets left by the late 80's/early 90's.

WWII has barely been explored by game developers, and I believe there is a bigger market for high quality shooters based on historical conflicts than what dominates the genre today. More realism wouldn't hurt at all. Both WWII and Vietnam are perfect eras in my opinion.

Because the media had been propogating WWII propaganda since the end of the war in various forms. Also, console first person shooters work better with automatic rail guns instead of something like a bolt-action rifle or carbine and most games are developed for separate platforms simultaneously. So ideas that help console games succeed get forced on PC gamers, like choosing a modern setting for the weapons for that era.

Some of these samples date back decades ago. I think we should be more precise and use samples that have released in the past 5 years.
