FRAPS Screenshots look faded?
Ever since I have used FRAPS all my screenshots have not quite looked like the game. For example I'm currently playing Witcher 3 Blood and Wine and the colours look really rich in-game. Partly due to my dynamic resolution being set to full, and it looks ace. But when I use FRAPS to capture such gorgeous views, I go to view them and they all look slightly washed out. As if the screenshots themselves, are showing the game with limited dynamic range.

Any idea how to resolve this? Im using PNG file type and they are serviceable screenshots. Just annoying me that they aren't quite right.

Why do you use FRAPS? You can take your screenshots within Steam overlay and even save
uncompressed 1:1 copies on disk.

Because I am playing on GOG, not on steam for the Witcher 3.

FRAPS is terrible for making videos with, but its screenshot function is pretty solid.

Yeah I don't use it for videos, just the screenshots. But for whatever reason the screenshots just don't look as great as I'd like. They just look like a bit of colour has been taken out of them and faded somewhat. Strange.

I read you save in PNG format, which you should by all means. But also, are you using a registered version? IIRC, the free version is pretty limited.

Yeah I'm using a registered version. It seems that it is the witcher 3 that is the issue. For whatever reason it just doesn't capture the colours as well on screen for the witcher 3. Most other games are fine.
