The nightmare on elm street series.
The friday the 13th series. You can skip jason X as it sucked.
The Halloween series. You can skip 3 as it was not part of the series. But still a good movie by it self.
The Final destination Series.

Versus (2000) is another good one to check out. It was made by the same director of Godzilla: Final Wars, and is considered to be the Japanese Evil Dead.
