Woo a violin progidy in 10 years, sounds enticing. More enticing than a gaming progidy bahaha!
This couple of weeks I was a resistance solider in a 1960's nazi world order and went to the moon. I was a women fighting a undead army on mystical island. Some cop trapped in a VR nightmare of Silent Hill proportions. Then some crazy loco dude riding the top of planes and shooting RPG's. Now some dude with a robot arm playing 1980's music on a sony walkman in the Afghani desert.
But for me... video games is a recreational thing for me. I enjoy playing it after a long day of work and I never feel bad for it at all. And besides... you have to take out your anger somehow in GTA 5. 😁
Well the part I playing at the moment for the last several hours is kind of tame compared to the initial crazy wtf intro.
It's just that part of life, I guess, but it's a good part.
Now I feel inspired to do more with my life. Posts like this, posts with real meaning, inspire me. Lately I've been wasting more time than I should be. I'll do something inspiring. I'll make a difference.
However, I have to disagree. I guess that addiction to video games is actually a thing, but not in my case. I do spend a lot of time playing video games, but I am genuinely sure that it isn't any kind of an addiction since there are countless things that I would rather do. When I have nothing to play, sometimes I just read some articles on the Internet, but if I were addicted, I would need to play a game and wouldn't be able to control myself. When I wake up or return home, I never hurry to start up my PC or play a game, sometimes I just like to lay on my couch and do nothing or maybe play with my cats and who knows what else. If it was an addiction, I wouldn't care about anything else and I would just head straight for the PC.
For the said (and many other) reasons, I really hate how many "psychiatrists" (I dare to say, idiots who don't know anything about their job) think that everyone who plays video games is a miserable addict who doesn't know better. I can't stand generalisation, especially when people talk about something that they don't even understand. Anyone who likes watching (similar) films on TV can easily enjoy single-player (or maybe multi-player) video games. I believe that any person, no matter how old they are, can easily enjoy L.A. Noire (for example) if they like watching similar films and series on TV or if they were alive during that time period. I used L.A. Noire as an example because it's a masterpiece and a very easy game that anyone can casually play. I really wish that all people (especially elders) who are against games could play L.A. Noire because it's truly a game for adults as it's serious and realistic. It's just like watching an old crime show on TV, except you are the detective and you interrogate people.
Almost everyone who is all against video games thinks that all video games are like Tetris or Pong, no wonder they say that all people who play video games are insane.
I feel like I had to say that. Anyway, you should do what you enjoy, not what other people think you should enjoy. As long as you don't have any real mental issues, then there is absolutely nothing wrong with playing video games. Looking at your monitor will not affect your eyesight at all, unless you watch this in a completely dark room all day and night.
No one has the rights to judge you for doing what you truly enjoy (and they don't have a valid point either), as long as it's not illegal or harmful for other people (your health is your own problem).
Even though there is nothing wrong with playing video games, no matter for how long, you should still have other things to do in your life. Try to think of more activities you can do and leave a few hours for games.
In my opinion, it's pointless to forbid yourself to play video games if you enjoy them. If you think that you should spend less time playing video games then just do that, but don't completely quit playing games if you enjoy it because once again, there is nothing wrong with that.
