Why Do People Hate Prebuilt PC?
I mean, it's their money, not yours.
It's like the same people who hates people who're buying skins.
Ridiculous.

My statement stand still. It's their money, not yours. Why don't people mind their own business?

Prebuilt PCs with ♥♥♥♥♥♥ GPU but good CPU isn't really making me happy. Also my friend bought one and it had pirated games on it. (Which i had to uninstall obviously)

I think the most common argument is that building PCs can be cheaper. That statement is often true, since you aren't paying for labour. That said. sometimes a custom built can be just as expensive as a prebuilt.

But there are some bigger downsides to prebuilts to be honest:

Oems like Acer for example have a bad habit of making their systems unbalanced, for example including a high end i7 CPU and then a low end GTX 745. Yet the price can still be high on these.

Now you can get places like cyberpower or PC specialist, where you can customize a pc to your spec and have them build it for you. It can be expensive (depending on what you pick) but its good enough for those who would rather not build their own, or dont have time to. If you pick quality parts, you can end up with a fairly decent sytem.

You can find prebuilts on ebay or amazon, these tend to have a low price to them and are fairly popular to those on a budget. Make sure one reads into what parts are used though, because system builders have a very bad habit of skimping on important areas such as power supply or motherboard. They also sometimes pull the low end video card trick like oems often do.

Not hating on prebuilts, but the above points are something to consider for anyone who is looking for a decent prebuilt pc.

If you do your research, a prebuilt can be fine. But you get those who don't do their research, get something like this, http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing/desktop-pcs/desktop-pcs/hp-pavilion-550-152na-desktop-pc-10138662-pdt.html and then complain that their games don't run.

People can spend their money how they want, but please, do some research first so you end up with something decent.

What's wrong with giving someone advice to build their own computer instead of foolishly overpaying for an underpowered piece of junk? They're made on a budget with parts from the lowest bidders, they always come with bloatware you don't want or need, they never give you an OS install disc, and their profits are used to pay employees.

Most of them will void your warranty for simply opening the case, they want you to ship the entire computer back to them for them to fix any minor problem (even a loose cable) and charge you for it, probably hoping you voided your warranty somehow. Building your own computer empowers you and makes almost any upgrade you might want cheaper.

I've never seen someone go out of their way to hate on prebuilt computers though.

Sometimes it's not like that.
I have a prebuilt, and everytime I told people that I use a prebuilt, they're all triggered like "lol you are buying a prebuilt" "you must be console peasant who just moved to pc" & stuffs.
I get it, prebuilt is overpriced, but it's my money, my preference. I don't get that kind of judgement.

Take it up with the individual you had that conversation with. Generally speaking, built PCs are cheaper and better but also generally speaking no one really cares what you do with your money.

Well, from my understanding it's hard to build a laptop so I think I'm excused.

But yeah, cheaper and balanced CPU/GPU.

I like pre-builts because I am not a cheap ass and am not poor.

so there is that

People don't generally build their own PCs because they're a "cheap ass." They build their own PCs not only because it costs less, but because they can get far better quality and performance than from a prebuilt.

Worded poorly, but what he's saying (I believe) is that why would a self proclaimed cheap ass by a prebuilt PC when you get less for more and your end overhead cost is always higher?

Well, you have to keep in mind that they're a business and profits is sort of a drive for them. I've heard many cases in which they'll throw in a decent GPU and CPU combo, but will put in a really cheap PSU.

Even if that's not the case for you, it will be cheaper to assemble it yourself. Meaning you can get higher quality components for the same amount of $ that you will spend on an inferior build. You'll also be more familiar with the computer that you built so that's a plus.

Yes, there is a stigma to pre-built PCs, but I don't think it's that bad as some make it to be.
