PERFECT Razer Surround EQ and Audio settings (still great in 2020)
Later edit: Still great in 2020

So i was playing around with the EQ, trying to find a good combination, and i think i found the perfect one. I'm using USB 7.1 Krakens.

These settings are great if you want a very clear and powerful sound:

- At the Audio tab enable Bass Boost and Voice Clarity.
- Set the Bass Boost to 80, leave the Presence Level in the middle and set the Volume Level somewhere around +15.

-Now the important part, the EQ tab
125Hz to +5
250Hz to +3
500Hz to -5
1kHz to -2
2kHz to +2
4kHz to +4
8kHz to +1
16kHz to +4

Should look like this: https://imgur.com/ggwvvoB

If you found the default preset as awful as I did, i reckon you'll like it :) Tell me what you think in the comments

Small footnote: If you feel like the "s" sounds are too loud or sharp, you can fix this by lowering the 4kHz slider in the EQ
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Edit:

Here's an alternative. It's definitely not as good as the first one, but some may like it:

This EQ has even more bass, but you'll have to sacrifice some treble for it. This is as smooth as it can get before becoming all distorted. You may be able to tinker a bit more with this one on different Razer headsets

- Audio tab:
-Disable Bass Boost (adding bass boost to this EQ just makes the sound muffled)
-Set the Sound Normalization to +10 (reduces the treble just the right amount so you won't get that ear-scratching feeling)
-Voice Clarity: Better not to touch the Presence Level,it makes the sound more robotic in some cases; the Volume Level can be set by preference - it affects how loud the voices are without affecting the quality of the bass and mids (as long as kept inbetween -15 and +15)

- EQ:
125Hz to +8
250Hz to +5
500Hz to 0
1kHz to 0
2kHz to +5
4kHz to 0
8kHz to -2
16kHz to 0

Test songs:
g-eazy- leviathan (rap,pop,progressive)
glue-Casin (vaporwave,chill)
caro emerald-stuck (electroswing,jazz)

*I am by no means a professional or anything, just a guy baffled by the horrible sound quality you get from the neutral preset on Razer headsets. Any feedback is appreciated:)

I think the first EQ and audio settings is much better. Sounds clear to me compared to the latter.

Yeah that's the point of it :) The 2nd one has a better bass while the first one is more clear and sharp. It's personal preference,i've used both and still changing between them. Glad you like at least one of them nonetheless :D

Hey! Really loving both sets! However I can't quite decide which is better for gaming? They both have their pros and cons, but which would you personally use for games that are heavily based on sound direction?

Hi! Personally, I tried both, and I feel that they are both amazing, but the drawback with them was that they changed a little bit the clarity and the pitch of the songs (at least in my case).
I found a pretty easy preset which still adds bass (not as much as yours), but keeps the clarity:
Set the Bass Boost to 100
Set the Sound Normalization to 24
Set the Volume Level to -65
Leave the Presence Level to 0
At the EQ, all you want to do is to make sure you have all of them on 0
Hope this helps someone ^^ :Rosse:

thanks for the tips and feedback, yeah i agree you kinda do lose some clarity at specific genres and some songs. Anyway there is not a perfect eq that works for everything and the same goes for mine ;i've managed to make 2 presets that work for most people in most situations tho and that's all i wanted :D
I tryed the edited ones and it makes my heavy metal/ rock sound muffled. Also my rap/hip-hop now has very little bass. It also seemed like it reduced the volume a bit and it's not as loud.
Nice work posting these but it don't work on all types of music.

Dude i have Razer Man O' War wireless headset (btw just bought them) and i was trying to set up the audio settings by myself but then i found this and i LOVE IT!! Haven't tested it for gaming tho yet... Im going to test them actually right now before i publish my comment. Ok. It wasn't so good for gaming, but for music. Oh yes. I like people who do these kinda posts.
