I was a 12 year old kid from New Zealand where it's summer all the time (winter is just summer with rain). So I believe I was in a shirt and cargo pants. It was a bit sunny and I didn't care, went up one of the vancouver mountains in Canada to snowboard.
I had more fun chasing squirrels though and taking thousands of photos of them, just to have them all come out as tails, except for one which happens to be a red squirrel posing and staring right at the camera. Man, I would of taken that little dude home with me if I could of. Those red squirrels rule!
I would lose my mind. We had about two weeks of warm weather and two pretty hot days this year. As far as I am concerned that is quite enough. It is time for fall.
I have seen snow ever so gently frost the world. I have seen the finest of powders tranform into a million sparkling gemstones as they catch dawns first light. I have seen snow toss itself up into waves, and gyrating vortexes. I have even seen snow explode on contact with the ground. I have seen snow do so many incredible and wonderful things.
So in answer to your question yes snow can be incredibly soft. Ultimately it depends on the kind of snow you are getting, and how you would personally define soft. I have personally seen some snow where you can pass your hand right through a foot of it without feeling hardly any actual resistence. I mean tissue paper would put up more of a fight.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I just realised wurmple's face looks like a butt
Snow is also cold (duh), you must wear proper clothing to enjoy it. When there's too much snow it can be a pain in the ass for humans.
Still, the landscape covered in snow can look truly gorgeous. Totally worth leaving your house.
Snow also provides water for a lot of bodies of water. So even if someone hates it, it's "necessary evil". My favourite lake is drying out, because we started having less snow in winter and ridiculously hot summers for our climate.
...At this point I kind of forgot what it feels like to have a snowy winter. So maybe what I'm saying is not that accurate. :P
I WORE LIKE 4 LAYERS IF CLOTHING
