How to get into horror games?
I want to get into horror games, but I'm too much of a wuss to actually play any. Any reccomendations for people new to the genre?

i don't think doom is a horror game, your protagonist is more of a horror than the enemies are in my opinion

No Silent Hill?

Wow how did I forget that series and so sad that I did. Silent wasn't just spooky and scary it was full on wierd. Great series of games left too rot by (Fk) Konami.

That a good point characters more horrorific and brutal than what they face. Alex Mercer is my top vote he literally eats people lol.

Play Fear 3, most horror veterans say its too softcore, but its good for newcomers.

Some games I would recommend, perhaps in order:

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: SoC (always tense, but only some horror parts)
FEAR
Penumbra
Amnesia

What? Dead Space 2 was amazing. I had to force myself to complete 1. 2, I played throught from sheer enjoyment. And the school was creepy as hell. I sure am glad I had my magnetting spinning buzzsaws to kill all those children.

But hey. different games for different folks, I guess.
Oh yeah, the preschool. Forgot about that. But did anyone think 3 was scary, I was used to it by the time I got to 3.
Dead Space 3 was more towards action trying to pull in more players

Turn brightness up and volume down

Another great horror expierence is Fallout New Vegas: Dead Money.
It is real dark and gives a very scary feeling to the player, it is very difficult and the reward for completing it is quite low in compare to the insanity horror of the Sierra Madre casino.
Be aware, the casino has several ways to kill the greedy ones, even at the end of the storyline, there is a trap for people who cant let it go, greed will be your death in Dead Money.

Oh man...with you all the way.

I'd recommend the Metro series. I haven't got it yet coz you know....wuss, but I think it's a good introduction to the genre.
The whole point is that horror games scare you. So being a wuss is essential to getting the best experience. Look at this guy play Doom 3 lol. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zHaH5FMJQZA

play left 4 dead?
When I was younger I was really scared of that game but now it's just a normal game for me

The Left 4 Dead series isnt horror in my opinion but only because you play with other people together, the zombie apocalypse games are horrific if you have to survive alone, what brings me to the next recommendation: Resident Evil 1 Remake for PC, it is the same like on Gamecube thats why I didnt bought it, but thats true horror in a zombie apocalypse.
Unfortunately Resident Evil 2 is on the index of several countries so a remake will be just a wish :(
