That's because most of what you hear on the radio or see promoted on televsion or youtube is almost literally factory produced. It's formulaic, from the tones to the keys to the lyrics to the outfits to the rhythm. It isn't music. It's a laboratory concoction. Doesn't matter whether it's country, rap, hip hop, metal, rock, dance/techno, whatever.

There's nothing random, nothing organic, and nothing of choice or personal taste. You're the DJ? Then you're damn well gonna play at least X amount of songs from list 1 this hour, and at least Y amount from list 2 in the next two hours, etc.

Turn off the radio, turn off the t.v., pick up an instrument and make your own music. Or just bang some rocks together like a monkey, because even that is 1000x better for you that listening to any of the crap produced to be "popular".

Yes the sound of rocks clanging together is so much better.
