What do you think about tattoos and people who have them

So ive been watching these weird videos on youtube lately about Korea and their illegal tattoo industry and how tattoos play out in their culture and for the most part people who have them or want them are viewed as the outcasts in society... Its kind of sad to see this but even here in the US some people still view tattoos and those who have them as unproffesional, stupid, or something that is associated with trouble makers.

To me tattoos can really tell you ALOT about someone both in a good and bad way. I think tattoos are fine and I really see no reason to hate on them, its not your body so why do you care so much?

Thoughts? Lets talk about tattoos. Please no flaming, im not trying to start an argument im actually curious.

It's just the fact that they're permanent that makes me stay away from them. Yeah it looks good now, but how will it look in your 60s?

I think some of them are beautiful, and some of them are not. But as long as the person who has them enjoys them, I have no problem with them (assuming they're not offensive). I have three and plan to get more soon.

Generally neutral. Tribal-style or other similar tattoos are tacky to me, like something a poor edgy teen gets to spite their parents or be "cool". Ones that have meaning or are especially artistic can be a boon to their appearance.

They also appear to be a staple among tryhards. The more tattoos they have, the more they're compensating for something.

What would be offensive though? One of my friends has an inverted cross on his hand and that could be viewed as offensive but he LOVES the tat.

Anyone can claim anything is offensive, so what is offensive?

i like tattoos but the prices are insane, which kinda puts me off, also the fact that everyone is doing it puts me off, it used be different but now it's just become another trend, bring on scarification and the cyborg age

Some people tattoo themselves for understandable reasons and some.. Not so much.

If it's to express your love or passion for something, then I don't see big issue. If it's to be "cool" or be in with the crowd then I find it rather stupid. Those ones usually end up with regret.

I got one and I designed it myself, on a not so bad area that'll look bad when I age and that's enough for me lol

eh, It depends on what it is being tattoed and where.
Most of the time I don't care.
In fact, I have thought of getting a tattoo somewhere in the future before.

I don't mind tattos buts really only because people all around have unlike my perants who hate tatto's but they didn't grow up roun people who had them. But tattos used to mean bad things if you came from the civiliztions in the middle east and europe 1000s of years ago. Most of the time tattos were only given to slaves and prisoners so you can see why people some people dislike them because in the beginning they meant bad things.

I really don't care what people do to their own skin...although sometimes they can get out of hand. You know, those people who have more than 50% of their body tattooed.

Not to mention if you regret getting it and want to remove it...it will be a painful experience.

Although I have to admit some people just look badass with some of the tattoos I've seen.
