Fake Xbox Controller isn't working.
I bought an fake Xbox 360 controller to play Rocket League on my PC but it isn't working at all. I also tried it on other games but it is not working. Do I have to install some software or anything?

Probably because it's a fake and it's not being registered or recognised by steam.

Who manufactured it, and who did you buy from?

If you're really short on luck, you might have just bought a look-a-like with no active electronics inside it.
Otherwise, the controller probably isn't compatible with the protocol used by rocket league. Try an emulator or other program that allows you to choose how input is handled and see if it works then. Also make sure the device is recognized properly in the hardware section of the control panel.

Should have gotten a blue cheap logitech gamepad than that crap from a random pleb
Or, like a lot of non-microsoft controllers, it isn't xinput complaint, and you need to use a program to create an xinput file for your game.

x360ce is the one I use. It is very simple to set up, with a little fiddling.

But knowing the manufacturer of your controller would help, and if it has issues with other games.

Yeah. I know. I was point to the specific issue, and the work around for it.

The work around, which doesn't work for every game, of course. I just use it for my 3gc Steel Series. I just really like the controller. But x360ce has, again, a few issues, and a few games, no matter the setting changes, just refuse to bind right.

Consumers Guarantee Act of 1998 (in NZ)

Just return it for a full refund, brand new replacement, or free repair (your choice), if it's not up to your satisfaction and doesn't meet it's description or work as it should.

This is quite effective at getting rid of scams / fakes, as they can't survive in the market. Their stores will quite literally bankrupt and be closed if their product doesn't meet standards. The scammer would lose money attempting to sell a scam item, and the scammed person would just get his money back.
