Question about random code on comment
Hi I got a random code posted in a comment on my profile. I deleted the comment and document the code. Is it for something on Steam? Is this trusted or should it not be used?

Trust nothing given to you randomly. Most likely a phishing link.

It was not a link, just a code like one receives as a redeemable.

I will post for example the format, though this was no the real code: AAAAA-BBBBB-CCCCC
it's spam. trash the comment and forget about it.

Do not use it. There has been reports of account hijackers doing this.
First they give you a game code,
Then they tell steam support that they are the original owner of your account and use the receipt for that given game as proof of ownership.

Oh, very well, thanks. I asked because I see that Steam have redeemable gift codes and I was not sure if it would be used on the platform.
if someone sends you a code randomly, don't use it. period.
