The most powerful fictional army
In your opinion, what is the most powerful or interesting fictional army?
For me it's probably The Combine

The Necrons[wh40k-fr.lexicanum.com] from Warhammer 40K.

They are the most advanced race with gauss weaponry that attacks on the molecular level.

When a Necron is destroyed it's instantly teleported back to be repaired and sent out to fight again, they are also made out of Necrodermis, a flexible regenerating metal that's nigh indestructable.

Necron Lords and Overlords and Phaerons carry devices like the Chronometron, which slows time down for everything but them, they also have Phase Shifters which phase them out the material universe for a short while, resurection orbs which revive fallen Necrons, and many other things.

Necron Monoliths[vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net] can lay down the hurt on armies and spawn Necron units, it also has the Doomsday variant.

Necron Megaliths are so massive that it can carry at least a dozen Monoliths inside the hull, plus the Necrons have the Trioliths.

Necrons also have the most powerful navy, with machines like the World Engine, a Jupiter sized superweapon with the largest gauss weaponry ever.

The Necrons also have the celestial orrery, a device that is a map of the whole galaxy, removing something from the map like the Sun destroys the real counterpart.

Even the fearless Tyranids which probably outnumber every other race steer clear of the Necrons and avoid contact.

Need I add that the Necrons have C'tan shards, shards of the C'tan gods.

I'd even wager the Necrons could beat the Time War Daleks easily, but I wouldn't want to spawn an arguement.

...sorry, couldn't resist.
More seriously ... um ... hm. 300? Skynet? Star Wars Empire? I dunno. I don't tend to think about the fictional armies much, just individual characters/small teams. :)

Don't they regularly get pwned by a lone timetraveling turbonerd?

Brotherhood of Steel.

Nothing like taking dangerous technology for yourself, saying that your priority is to keep others from using that technology so they don't destroy the world a second time, then using that technology yourself to get rid of your enemies.

Also, I want Power Armor to become a real thing.

although it's not fallout armors design, there's actually a guy who makes real power armor that can withstand a 50 mph hit from a truck. He made one that's 2000 dollars, that looks more like a spartan suit and a bomb proof suit combined but it's really cool looking.

Anyone led by this guy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RF7KgS6UZ4I

You've got to respect Captain Kirrahe and BioWare for this one. Cpt Kirrahe's voice resonates, tremulates, with emotion and conviction. "Before the network, there was the fleet. Before diplomacy, there were soldiers!"

How did I never get any officers quite like this? : ( Probably because they didn't have timed thunderclaps.

Oh well, you were looking for my favorite faction were you not? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQkyhrZHT0k

The Cybrans. I can think of no higher cause than liberating the inevitable result of humanity. While it may not be Cybrans per se, humans naturally create higher forms of order, as does all life. I would not see our species held prisoner to fear. Oh, yes.

Some of them do, like "Whoa, they're all dead, finally!"
And the next season there's 500 trillion more, I didn't say they were good XD
