Can someone please explain the joke of Harambe?
Why has it suddenly turned into a joke? I don't get what's so funny about a gorilla that got killed. Please explain?

People are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
It's making fun of the people that pretend to be zoologists and think that something else (that didn't involve the baby dying) could be done.

There's no deeper meaning or explanation, it's not making fun of anyone in particular. The story was just out of the ordinary, so the internet collectively decided to run with it and turn it into a meme.

Also, there's nothing wrong about finding comedy in serious or tragic events. In fact, I'd argue that's the main purpose of comedy.

You see...There was this Gorilla named Harambe. He got shot. He died. He became a meme. There's nothing to explain

Not saying that it should shouldn't be turned into a joke. I just didn't really get the joke is all.

It's called sadism.

Some people have a brain malfunction, which makes them get off at a sexual level response, from the torturing, abuse and/or death of others.

Hense: D***s out for Harambe - they are getting off sexually from the death of an animal and wish death upon the child too.

Some little kids copy it, not understanding it entirely. Pretty much like kids who low ride their pants, not understand it's a sexual thing they are copying from their parent's who got raped in prison as someone elses ♥♥♥♥♥.

Then it catches on in schools, etc. As a mob mentality is created from it. Monkey see, monkey do.

People want to feel like they belong in something for the first time in their sad lives.

If I was in that situation I would have shot the ape too before it tore the kid in half.

They're losers that want the reparations to the gorilla's family to be child sacrifice.

"Joke"? Harambe's death is not a joke, gorillas are endangered, humans are not. They killed a gorilla to save a human child who's parents are blind idiots. The kid fell into his territory, his home. He felt threatened.

Human > gorilla.

The sad thing is the way they reactioned.

1) Logically the ape wouldn't of killed the child. In fact, most will actually protect a baby or young kid. A group of people see this point of view. So killing the ape was overkill?

2) However, the crowd was screaming, scaring the ape at the time. Which was causing it to drag the kid around like a ragdoll. Another group of people see this as the ape was going to kill the kid.

3) There's a fight between both groups, but in that scenario, at the heat of the moment, you only have a split second to react.

4) They could of used tranquilizer darts on the ape instead, putting it to sleep rather than killing. However, they take time to kick in and the ape will get even more worked up during that time.

So there's all this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about the what ifs...

If they didn't freak out, didn't scare the ape, the kid played hurt, cried, or even played dead. The ape would of just held him and probably even give him back. That's happened in the past to little kids and apes. It's a myth that any ape feels threatened by a little kid, their reactionship is actually surprisingly one of a caring and kind parent. Crying even triggers them into comforting the kid or get scared off. Just many don't understand this, and who's to blame them, as the appearance is something else.

But there's no reverse button on time and what's done is done. What's the point of blaming the kid for entering the enclosure, the parent for ignoring the kid, the crowd for freaking out and the ape for running back and forwards holding the kid wondering what the hell is going on. Nothing is going to change, plus I'm pretty sure people feel for it enough.

People jumped on this because it was trendy, not because they actually cared.
