Why do gamers accept bad products?
What led gamers to accept shoddy, buggy, unfinished and generally broken products? And what can be done about it? Because as long as you keep opening your wallet for early access, microtransactions and other customer abusive practices, you'll keep getting worser and worser quality games.

because gamers are weak morally, socially, and culturally.

At any time gamers can just close their wallets. Nobody is putting a gun to their heads and making them act this way.

and are also addicts
I don't

in fact I got a strong hatred for that type of game and will show it openly.

I'm no stranger to bashing dev teams and games if the product is not up to what I believe is a basic standard if you are asking for money for the game.
because what you value and what someone else values are two different things, and there’s nothing wrong with that, except for you finding your own opinions to be superior to theirs
I don't mind bugs, that's why they make updates. :marijaonlooker:

But it shouldn't just ship out the door on day one full of bugs that's a shoddy product
I only buy maybe one or two games a year, so it's practically no loss for me.
Identifying as a "gamer" does that, hard R and all. Traits include being a cringebag and displaying simping tendancies.

These mouth-breathers are impressed by RGB and are easily tricked with smoke and mirrors like DLSS.
Read the reviews. Play a game three months after release. Problem solved.
Because they've been indoctrinated to accept it. And many have no idea how well games worked early on. Even the bad games back then were far better than today's bad games.
Yeah but that won't stop the large majority of people who live for "day one release" or get in on the preorder hype train. The majority of people do that and as long as that happens nothing changes, or is likely to change.
Buying actually good games
>Buying the same game for the 19th time

But they didn't need to. Patching issues post launch, while a nice idea, has become the lazy devs get out of jail free card. Back when I still worked in tech. We could not release a faulty/incomplete product to the client. It would cost us the contract and our jobs. We QA tested everything over and over again, until it was perfect. And this wasn't mission critical software either. We did that too, but the standards were even more strict.

But it hurts the rest of industry. Dont think you're isolated on your own little island, where the outside world does not affect you. It does, you just dont notice it yet. I used to ignore the harpies in HR. Now I recognize the existential threat they possess to any company they get their claws into.

I dont identify was a gamer. I'm more disappointed that most gamers, even those of my age, readily accept the garbage that is served to them. I think the gaming industry has gotten too big and too interconnected. I long for the days when different genres and regions had limited contact with each other and you could only marvel at all the cool tech ♥♥♥♥ that japan got, or the uncensored sexuality in European films.

I personally detest the 'gamer' identity and lifestyle. It's all manufactured. Not saying I never bought an rgb keyboard or mouse. I have. I actually like back lit keyboards. They dont gotta be rgb. But hey if that's all that's available that feels good to type on for me. I dont care. I feel like basing your personality around the products you consume is something that people without an identity or culture latch on to. It's like sports fans who hate the opposing teams players and fans. Oh boy I've seen some ♥♥♥♥ between sports fans.

I dont believe that. If a game isn't good and ready on release. It rarely deserves a second chance.
Usually no one does. Without an external force the honest answer is outright no one does want a terrible product and will never buy into it. But like every single form of art some people have an external emotional connection to something, be is a private experience with others, or a parasocial connection to a franchise. We might accept ♥♥♥♥♥♥ games to present a multiplayer friend group or to play our favorite franchise. It's the same with all forms of art. It took quite a bit to finally ditch DnD for Pathfinder recently myself.

It's cross medium to. Movies and TV have the same problem. The only one that escapes is novel and thats because they franchising usually ends when the guy writing it dies.

The reverse is also true. We seek out our new experience that aren't painful and sufficiently drawing to our emotions. But sometimes there's some history that prevent connection. Some people hate Star Wars for personal reasons and wont watch it. Disney Wars I get of course. Some people wont watch sequals no matter how good Toy Story 2 is, and some people hate the concept of movies to TV series so no amount of convincing will make them watch Read or Die.
