They call French Fries "chips" and potato ships, "crisps." The brit's slang has never made sense. It's a silly place, best give it no attention
We call thinly cut chips "french fries" (or just fries), chips are thicker cut. We call crisps "crisps" because we invented them.
^ This, idk if it's the same everywhere in the UK, but where I live we distinguish between proper chips and fries
It's a slang word we use for saying 'im going to the toilet' - 'im going to the bog'.

I do use it sometimes in company of mates but in front of of ladies and important people, I will use the word toilet

They do? I thought that was a mainly Australian thing.

I think most people know they're not French at this point. Eveyone I know just calls them "fries."

We actually have many names for it.

The bathroom
The toilet
The loo
The bog
The Khazi
The swanny
The ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
The Gary Glitter

There's probably more, as slang varies depending on where you are in the country.
I really don't think I would go into something called the Gary glitter. Mostly due to the pedophilia. My John Thomas is mine and I'm an adult so stay away from me Gary glitter.
I have heard the phrase many times and I think it is a slang term. In normal language most people will refer to it as going to the toilet or going to the loo.
Does anyone else remember the old-fashioned term "water closet?"

It threw me for a loop when people started talking about the "WC" a few weeks ago.

Is that what WC stands for? I always wondered that but I always forgot to look up the meaning

I do, WC is typical something they say in the Netherlands.
For the same reason (some) Americans call it a John. Colloquialisms are a thing.
The real question is why the hell are people who complain about degradation of the environment not pushing for bidets given they have less of an impact than toilet paper as a whole? Is it because they don't actually give a ♥♥♥♥?

Yes that pun was intended.

That's like calling it the Jimmy Savile or the Nick Bate. Actually it might be legitimately worse if you called it the Nick Bate.

I hate the internet so much it's unreal. Please never change internet.
I thought they call it the throne hall.
