Why does my mic make a static sound?
I have a built-in microphone on an ASUS laptop, and it makes a loud static sound, that includes things like teamspeak, discord, wire, OBS, etc. But strangely enough, it does not makes the static sound on steam call, skype, and in-game chat. Why does my mic do this and how do I fix it?

Control Panel > Sound > Recording > Microphone (default) > Properties

Check your microphone levels. Ensure it's not at 100%. Rather have it around 15-40% and add Microphone Boost instead (+30.0 dB).

If required and causing interference, disable other recording devices you never use.

Then adjust the apps to match a good even voice level via all.
