The Purge is an unrealistic concept, seeing as in the films all anyone really does is decide to kill people. In real life theft, vandalism and other similar crimes would probably be committed just as much if not more so than murder.

Well, Comcast customers would go and vandalize everything Comcast...

A lot of mugging and stuff would happen, though. And if someone tries to fight back, one could just kill them, loot their body, and have no repercussions.

I'd have to wonder, though, why would any government would let that night exist in the first place.

Well if you watched the movie it is revealed that most of the killers are paid by the government to keep the Purge going.

Most of the people killed are the poor and homeless. That's what the Purge really is for.

But as a concept yes there'd be a ton of other crimes going on besides killing on Purge night.
