Recommended games for a 12-14 year old? Help !

Hey Steam Family,

I built my kids a pretty meaty gaming PC for Christmas and they are wanting to spend some of their birthday money on here. They got some great ones in the Steam Summer Sale but still have quite a bit left that is burning a hole in their Steam wallet :)

I have recommended loads that I like and ones that I feel they might want but they are still struggling on a decision.

Some of the ones they have and like already are:

* Tomb Raider (latest one) - their favourite for its great graphics and story.
* All the Lego games - O(pen world multi-player - what's not to like? :)
* Minecraft - Although they are slowly growing out of this now.
* Warframe - They love the graphics and love anything that explodes -.-
* Space Marine - Hacking and slashing at Orks with relatively simple game play.

Any suggestions are very welcome. I t would be great to get home tonight with a list of suggestions from here.

Since you seem to allow them to play violent games with blood. I would recommend the games Binary Domain, Red Faction: Guerilla, Red Faction: Armagedon., Guacamelee Super Turbo Championship Edition, Dishonored and DiRT 3.

Anyways , let your kids try CoD series or CSGO , for 14 years old cs go and CoD is ok , hen they can try Command and Conquer if they like strategy games.

But i would strongly recommend cs go ;)

I believe that video games don't turn people into what they play. If they did I'd be a BFG toting blue hedgehog with blood dripping down my face and drive my car around San Andreas.

Yeah, I draw the line at GTA - the sexual reference and (lets face it) Trevor are a tad too far, haha! I don't want my 12 year old buying a strip club or seeing a characters balls XD

hahahahha , basicly GTA is the only game that has made many people act in real life like they would act in the game ;p. Some have even killed , you can seee it if you search.
Buy them outlast or FNAF so you dont sleep at night xD

If you draw the line at sexual refrences then you shouldn't allow them to play the game F.E.A.R 2 as the player gets ''raped'' by the ghost girl in small 1 second clips during the final boss fight[/spolier] So im going withdraw my F.E.A.R recommendation.

12 year olds should not have Steam accounts, upon registration, they must state they are are aged 13 or over.
