My theory: Chris Evans was paid an obnoxious sum of money to be an obnoxious host on Top Gear so that next year, when they reboot it for real, the show is compared to Evans instead of Clarkson.

No its probably because you dont watch much TV in a worldly sense as it was infact believe me or not, most widely watched factual television programme in the world.
