How To Resume Downloads That Failed (Internet Browsers)

Is there a way to resume a download that was interrupted and failed and stopped dwonloading? I'm using Internet Explorer to download this huge file, but eventually after a while it'll get interrupted and stop, but I can usually resume it. I'm just scared of it giving up like it does sometimes from previous experience and then I have to redownload the whole file again. I'd usually use Google Chrome but it seems with downloads it won't let you resume them as often when they file. So when they fail completely, is there a way to resume it anyway, even seperately?

It's depending on the situation:

When the download fails completely (so the file is broken), Internet Explorer (and also the other browsers) may delete the cache-file so you have to redownload all.

If you just pause the download or it's interrupted by a internet failure or something, it could be resumed.

BUT: it's depending on the website you download. Some sites give you a time-limited link so if you pause the download and the link runs out, you cannot resume because the file isn't
accessible anymore.

I have no experience with downloaders, but maybe the could help in this situations.
