The British people don't seem to think so, and the markets wiped 3 trillion off, didn't seem to think so.
Regarding OP - not sure why you are surprised talk show hosts pick their favourite politicians and make fun of the rest of them. It might all be a ploy to get more viewers, to be controversial etc., but I actually genuinely believe they would put their money where their mouth is come vote-time, i.e. they are not just pretending to hate Trump, they actually do.
Maybe start watching something more symphatetic to Trump. Anything on Fox probably.
Well, it was a very close vote, showing how divided the country is. 48% of the voters voted Remain vs 52%.
But what's done is done. It's certainly an example of how not to run a country, and shooting yourself in the foot.
Britain had by far the best deal in the EU, rebates, special veto, no euro, no Schengen etc. and no it doesn't even have access to the EEA anymore. And to get back a fraction of the benefits, they will have to give up a lot, as the EU is bound to make UK an example.
Shows what lies and manipulation can do when the Leave campaing pamphlet was all non-factual, and the power of the media in 2016.
Incidentally I no longer under-estimate Trump's chances.
There is corruption everywhere. At least Europe has some of the lowest in the world.
Immigration quotas could easily have been vetoed. There was political pressure for the UK to accept more refugees, as it was directly responsible for the crisis, but that was it. Just pressure. It was not policy or law and would have had to have the majority vote, which it didn't.
Leaving more enlightened countries taking care of the crisis mostly on their own.
Of course it's a problem. The war directly resulted in this. But the US is too far away and xenophobic to accept refugees, same with UK.
Well, at least the maintenance ratio problem will be solved by Germany and Sweden.
It's geographically impossible to skip them. A much poorer country, Turkey has more than 2 million refugees from Syria alone.
Of course I hate it.
People are tired of the cultural seperation, crimes and terror attacks committed by immigants. It's really simple.
The markets were being hammered by other factors long before Brexit. China was the major culprit with its slow down in economic growth causing a collapse of commodity prices affecting commodity exporting countries in Africa, South America and the countries of Australia and Canada. Europe and the US have also posted extremely weak growth figures with some countries battling deflation. Brexit just created more uncertainty in a market that is already struggling to deal with current issues, something not helped by the unwillingness of the EU to compromise on anything.
Also people have no right to complain about democracy when they failed to vote in the referendum. Apparently a huge chunk of those that wanted to remain in the EU refused to vote so they only have themselves to blame for the result.
Trump is better for comedy than Bush was
