I haven't played either long enough to decide which one is the better game, but don't even bother with Dark Souls if you don't have a controller. It's also rather dated compared to The Witcher 2.
Well for starters both are Action-RPG games set in a fantasy setting.
If they have no similarities then no two games can ever be compared.
Nothing in common on the subject of gameplay.
Although CD Projekt is one of my favorite developers who seem to actually care for the people they're creating the games for. I'll never forget the thank you note I got when I purchased Witcher 3.
