Are the Battlefield 1943 servers alive?

I want to go back to play this on PS3 for good old times. Is it still active because I searched up and couldn't find anything about servers being active. My PS3 is being borrowed so I can't check.

Don't know about Battlefield 1943 but you can download Battlefield 1942 legally for the PC and I am pretty sure that has an active community.

Yea I have Battlefield 1942 and I played it after training for soccer all day. I enjoy that game and it's perfect way to do before going sleep. Battlefield 1943 was a given PC release and it never happen. I want to see if Battlefield 1943 is alive because I memories playing it in release on consoles. It made me buy a console to play it when it got released.

I tried a PS3 demo yesterday and it was running. I'm new to it and it reminded me of Enemy Territories Quake Wars(pc) but with destructable props. I got into a game with only one person strangely on my side who was standing around then people started joining. I really don't want to play a shooter on a controller but here i make an exception for the casual, accessibility, and light hearted fun i saw here. nobody, like me seemed to know what was goin on then i rolled over to my T.FLIGHT H.O.T.A.S. jstick for plane combat and tore it up. the movement is slow and simple and it has a non-hardcore funny atmosphere but with objectives and team work, nice for an old guy like me, so i think i'm buying it soon for $10 bucks download only. i would'nt say the servers are chock full, i ended up next(with no wait) in a 6x6 and people seem to join in during missions.with only 4 maps it probably does'nt have endless gaming for me but i got to have it for when i'm in the mood. come bring your good old times and a mic headset and help us out.
