Each anime series is different. Take a look at the art, read up on the premise, maybe if you're musically inclined look up some music related to it on YouTube. Decide if you are curious enough to watch that series. If you are, go for it. If you're interested enough to watch another, watch a second one.
No need to think about it stiffly.
FYI the recs you'll usually get, for someone new to anime, are sort of series generally well-regarded as "classics" and are typically action/drama shows that take a darker tone on things. That doesn't mean they're necessarily something you'll like, though. There are a lot of different genres represented in anime. What genres do you like?
I still have major trust issues after looking that up after somebody suggested that here.
1. I'm not sure where/what site to watch it on
2. Not exactly interested in Manga
3. There's like a THOUSAND EPISODES of many anime series. This is the biggest resistance piece for me. I Like to start series and shows right from the roots and if an anime has 10 seasons, 3 spin offs, and one pre main storyline season I just tend to immediately become disinterested.
#3 combined with #1 effectively turns me off animes, mostly.
Don't watch anime just to fit in with your friends imo. Watch if you're interested.
What does that have to do with anime? That's like saying you don't watch cartoons because you aren't interested in comics.
There are also tons of anime with only one or two seasons of up to 13 episodes per season.

A total of 95 episodes with each of the French and English ones listed on Youtube. The first 2 seasons are noticably dated (2003, 2005), but the later seasons still look fairly solid for 2006 and 2007. Used to watch it around 11 years ago; I was never into anime, nor I am now.
2.Okay, so? Only one manga I read thus far I feel really deserves an anime and only because I love dark humor.
3.Those are the shows that fell under corporate greed. I just avoid those. Shows like Naruto, Attack on Titan, SAO. Shows that just focus more on merch than on story telling.
Case Closed/Detective Conan comes to mind because I was 5 at the time it aired and its still going on to this day. Its reached episode 667(according to Wiki). If you count the moives(which apparently there are 20) that's 687 episodes(if you wanna be real picky you can split those movies in to 22 minute episodes so that's about 3 per movie). Its the Simpsons of anime.
