way better than Hatred.
And STILL no videogame out there remotely close to this little masterpiece called "Hatred"...
I mean:
- some games have maybe a few scenes depicting cool stuff like in "Hatred" (Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2's "No Russian" mission comes to mind, which by the way is one of the best things ever created in gaming history)
- there are a few sim/strategy games like "Plague INC." and "The Sims" but they don't let you get up close and personal
- certain rpg games like the "Fallout" saga let you kill a few people here and there but nothing nearly as close in terms of edginess, mass genocide etc...
The only thing remotely close would be the "Postal" franchise, but it's too corny and doesn't give that actual hardcore gory vibe whatsoever unfortunately...
Oh well. Maybe one day something even better will come along. Until then we must satisfy our bloodlust with this one.
WAY too old. The premise is acceptable, but the graphics...
I mean part of what makes "Hatred" so beautiful are the graphics. First you have the genocide and then the graphics.
Your neighbors are parting too hard and you kill them or something. I haven't tried it.
You're missing the whole point, namely the overall ambience and vibe that "Hatred" gives...
Compared to that vibe, spawning and killing NPCs in "Garry's Mod" is basically "Tetris".
It was, let's say cute at best. But overall? Not even close to "Hatred". And all those 90's pixels really took the "up close and personal" vibe out of the experience.
Now sure, "Hatred" is isometric and top-down, but at least the graphics make the overall vibe seem at least a bit realistic, and the execution cutscenes really hit the nail on the head.
Not to mention the freedom of just shooting/exploding/incinerating anything and every other amazing aspect that make this game awesome.
1. Download a dark and ambient map, that gives you Hatred vibes (preferably towns and cities)
2. Install a bunch of npc packs and put them in houses/in crowds too. (Cops and Military are armed and the civilians arent)
3. Install a Weapon pack of your choice preferably non Explosive weapons
4. Set up the Npcs and go somewhere away from them and load up the guns
5. Start shooting and killing
6. (Optional) Download a edgy dark looking playermodel
That's how you do Hatred in Gmod
