Open-world fantasy games that have firearms?
I haven't seen any open-world fantasy games that include firearms ... most of them seem to prefer medieval weapons like swords and bows. Can anyone recommend an open-world fantasy game that includes historical firearms like arquebuses, muskets, muzzle-loading pistols, etc?

Maybe this game.

There are guns in the screenshots. I don't own it yet though so I can't tell you what its like.

I see it go on sale a lot so don't pay full price.

Played it, can confirm it has weapons, and you can make your way through a game using them (though they are more of a secondary utility type, not sure how ammo would look like)

Betrayer sorta covers what you want, but it got pulled from the Steam store for some reason. You may be able to buy a key on Humble or GoG though.

If you don't mind horror, there's:

How is it, worth picking up?

yeah, just make sure you don't buy the DLC. The game kept asking me to buy it despite I buy it along with the golden edition. Still piss me off to this day.

Edit: I'll just copy my review here
Greedfall seems like it does one aspect right but do the other wrong
*The quest story is great but the execution is sometimes poor (lots of running back and forth, 80% of the time spent on quest is just running)
*The rank up mechanics is great with lots of flexibility, but the combat that it applies to is lacking due to very limited enemy type (basically only beast [all beast of same species regardless of subtype have same attack], humans, and boss)
*The world looks great (although I prefer brighter filter but the setting fits the brown filter) but there is nothing to interact with in the world (NPC does nothing except merchants)
*There is disguise system but it's only used once in blue moon which is a real pity, and the time it is used I hope they also use other check like charisma check or something so it's more believable. RIght now the only time disguise fails is ]
*Lots of variety to fight but they are not balanced. Magic is way too OP and make the game feels like a cakewalk while if you opt for guns well, good luck finding those ammo.
*Companions questline are great and all companions have great personality overall, but the ending and romance feels very lackluster.

Not only the game took a step forward but then only to shoot itself on the foot, the DLC you buy is inaccessible. I bought the gold edition, get to mid game where the DLC quest trigger but surprise, they ask me to buy it even tho i have the dlc installed. And since it's already 30 hours in I cannot refund the DLC.

I was thinking most of the FF games had at least a few guns in them. I've also always liked how they do guns in the games. They actually feel somewhat balanced because you could see magic being superior to firearms in many cases in that kind of setting. Likewise, magic and technology don't exist independently of each other in most of the games. If there's a "tank" chances are it's got some kind of magical aspects to it. If there's a mage, chances are he's using some kind of technology to assist him.

I was thinking most of the FF games had at least a few guns in them.

There were no guns before VII. Unless you count Edgar's crossbow, which was based on the real life Warring States period repeating crossbow.

Though the dreadnought in FFII had cannons. And there were magical ray guns in V and VI. And the Dwarf Tanks in FFIV.

And I think everyone agrees the FFVIII gunblades are just ridiculous, even if such weapons did exist. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pistol_sword

It's been so long since I played the old ones I'd forgotten about that.
