Get Rid of Skype

Linux Mint User.
Hates Microsoft after using Linux for close to a year.
Wants to not only stop using Skype, but find a good alternative that's worth moving to.
Any ideas?

steam unless you're using voice. I suppose there's Oovoo if it's for linux.

Google+ Hangouts/Talk or Facebook chat. I think both should be compatible with Pidgin or Kopete. Both will involve you having to convince your entire list of contacts to migrate from Skype however.

Just stick with the Linux Skype client, it's perfectly fine.

Just....I've come to dislike Micorsoft, and...I want to be rid of it, for good. I'll look into Oovoo, as Malik suggested. And I do have my FB chat and Skype hooked into Pidgin. Just wish there was a complete replacement client for something similiar...
